Urgent Needs

URGENT NEEDS

Page Editor: MarilynF@humanityroad.org

5/30/2010 As of this date, we note that most of the needs coming out of Haiti are chronic needs that we anticipate will be continuing for some time.  Nevertheless, with the rains and hurricane season approaching, this page may become active again with very urgent needs. Please check back often.  Urgent needs will be added below as we find them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These urgent need items will be posted with the most recent needs posted at the top.  Unless there is independent confirmation that an urgent need item is ongoing, the item will removed from the bottom of the list and archived.  The facilities listed below provide care for or house senior citizens, children, or otherwise have a larger than ordinary population  and/or special needs individuals who need aid desperately.  If you are reporting on behalf of an urgent need, please send updated information about what the need is or if it has been met so that we can keep the information here current.
If you are listing one, please include in your comment:
Name of facility
Location including GPS if possible
Description of Need
How many people are impacted
Contact info
Source (Insert link)
◆  Facilities are updated as reports come in, with most recent at the top.
◆  Try searching public internet for news stories on the topic – you’d be surprised how many media reports help us.
6/3/2010 Urgent Needs:  Help with school construction
Haitian (NGO) -The Christian Foundation of Succor to Haiti.
Pasteur Dieusel operates a School in Citi Soleil. We have secured one permanent school building and two large tents to temporily replace/relocate the damaged/dangerous buildings that are along the putrid river.
He needs funding for the construction of 5 more permanent buildings in the new location to provide space for 600 more children. Pasteur Dieusel is a good man. He would appreciate any assistance you can provide with his efforts to help the Citi Soleil children.
